The Fantasy Football Scoutcast
More than a decade ago Fantasy Football Scout launched its first first podcast – the legendary ScoutCast. Since then it has expanded to include an even wider range of expert opinion, stats and laughs to help you sniff out the likeliest clean sheets and best buys. Fantasy Football Scout’s podcast family has grown further in recent years to include captaincy and team news editions each Gameweek. Meanwhile, our regular Breakfast Club episodes add further analysis ahead of each deadline. There’s also our Meet the Manager series to check out – which sees us chat to Fantasy managers with a stellar track record of success.

Joe and Neale reveal their transfers and captains for #GW14 and look ahead to the busy festive schedule.

Tammy Abraham's injury is causing problems for Fantasy managers. But could his absence also lead to opportunities - particularly to tap into the wealth of attacking options available?

Joe certainly thinks so with a certain Spurs striker coming into his team.

They also give their reaction to the lunchtime team sheets and reveal some of the festive bargains they are looking to snap up in the post Black Friday sales.

When does patience stop being a virtue and become downright stubbornness?

This is among the issues tackled by Joe, Az and Lee on this week’s ScoutCast as they look at their own stubborn streaks and wonder whether impatience may actually be the better strategy this season.

Those who have been slow to catch on to Jamie Vardy’s sensational captaincy potential, and clinging to the hope that Raheem Sterling will eventually score in the league, will know about the cost of patience only too well.

There’s also plenty of input too from the community on this issue as they reveal how they may have been, perhaps, too set in their ways this campaign.

Meanwhile, Jesus' credentials as a differential saviour is also on the bill as are Spurs assets, who are already shaking up the template under Mourinho. But which of the North Londoners’ wealth of attacking talent is the best to acquire?

Our trio also look back at their Gameweek 13 scores and find time to detail their plans for the upcoming Gameweek 14 matches this weekend.

In this packed show they also manage to squeeze in the regular features including clean sheets and rough with the smooth.

Finally, Az marks his return to the ScoutCast line up to maintain his strong track record of picking differentials by taking his turn to pick the next month’s best low-owned gem.

Will our trio continue to be stubborn this season, or will the patient approach prevail?

What good is the rest of the season, without the cold thrill of winter fixtures to give it sweetness.

With nine Gameweeks to cram in from now to the end of the year, seasonal planning will be more important than ever for Fantasy Premier League managers.

It’s a mammoth challenge that the ScoutCast crew are looking forward to despite the annual cold snap that is about to descend across their teams.

In this latest episode Joe is joined by Holly and recent Meet the Manager interviewee Tom Freeman to look ahead to the festive fixtures and consider shaking up the template, notably addressing Mason Mount’s recent poor returns.

Holly is particularly well placed for the Christmas chat after penning a recent Pro Pundits article on winter fixture planning.

Meanwhile, Tom’s patient approach, which includes hanging onto his first Wildcard, makes his advice invaluable at this time of year. For Joe, he recommends planning for not one, but two, winter mini-seasons over December.

Navigating Liverpool’s schedule is also looked at, especially how to contend with their great run followed by a blank fixture in Gameweek 18.

Elsewhere, the crew consider the implications of Tottenham’s sacking of Mauricio Pochetinno, a story that broke just before they recorded this episode on Tuesday night.

Clean sheets, Gameweek 13 transfers and captain plans plus an audacious differential recommendation from Tom are also covered in this packed, hour-long, all chiller - no filler episode.

Here’s more information about David’s Movember fundraiser.

A focus on pre-season research, a quick weekly statistical rummage and not caring about money has helped Tom Freeman achieve a truly stellar track record of success as a Fantasy Premier League manager.

During his decade long career he has finished in the top 1,000 on five occasions and has three more season ranks in the top 10,000.

We caught up with him during the 2019/20 season and on course for another great finish.

In his chat with Joe, Tom reveals how ignoring team value has helped him do so well. This means he leaves transfers to the last minute and is also unafraid to ditch a player who he has profit tied up in.

Making mistakes in Fantasy Premier League is the easy part. Fantasy managers can do that on a weekly basis, from the wrong captaincy decision to questionable bench selections.

The tricky part is learning from those errors and attempting to improve each Gameweek.

In this week’s ScoutCast episode, Joe is joined by Holly and FPL Family’s Lee for a soul-searching look ahead to Gameweek 12.

They consider some of the errors they've made this season and what they've learned from them.

Meanwhile, the community owns up to their own blunders. More of these can be found via Joe’s Tweet on the issue earlier in the week.

The ScoutCast crew also look at the Lord of FPL (aka Sheffield United star John Lundstram) and how he’s transformed the game this season.

With a fixture swing and questionable captaincy credentials, Manchester City and Liverpool assets also come under scrutiny.

Lee takes his turn to pick a differential, clean sheets get an airing and there’s a cavalcade of fireworks to contend with in this packed episode, that was recorded on November 5.

Finally, our podcast and video trio reveal their plans, including captaincy choices, for the next set of fixtures. Is this the week they finally learn from their mistakes?
