The Fantasy Football Scoutcast
More than a decade ago Fantasy Football Scout launched its first first podcast – the legendary ScoutCast. Since then it has expanded to include an even wider range of expert opinion, stats and laughs to help you sniff out the likeliest clean sheets and best buys. Fantasy Football Scout’s podcast family has grown further in recent years to include captaincy and team news editions each Gameweek. Meanwhile, our regular Breakfast Club episodes add further analysis ahead of each deadline. There’s also our Meet the Manager series to check out – which sees us chat to Fantasy managers with a stellar track record of success.

Andy and Neale discuss the latest press conference news ahead of Gameweek 25 to see if there's any changes that need to be made to our FPL Teams.

He tore a hamstring, then broke our hearts. Sadio Mane’s injury in Liverpool’s clash with Wolverhampton has ruined many Fantasy Premier League managers’ double Gameweek 24.

It is understandable that the many Mane owners, in particular those who handed the midfielder their Triple Captain chip, were after some tender loving care from the Scoutcast crew.

Our trio of Joe, Az and FPL Family’s Lee try their best to lift the community’s spirits as they consider the best replacements for the winger.

With a lack of choice among premium assets in the centre of the park, budget options take centre stage, with an eye on pricey picks elsewhere in their squads.

Mane’s injury is set likely to sideline him for the next week or two, which has prompted some to swiftly deploy their Second Wildcard.

This episode takes in the best players to consider for Wildcardees and also aims to help those yet to use this chip, to find the optimal time to wield it during the season run in. This discussion takes in upcoming blank and double Gameweeks, especially the wealth of information available from fixture planning guru Ben Crellin on social media.

One team we know will have a blank fixture, in Gameweek 28, is Sheffield United, as Aston Villa’s Carabao Cup victory this week means the West Midlands side’s forthcoming encounter with Chris Wilder’s troops needs to be postponed. The Scoutcast crew consider the best Blades to opt for given their otherwise splendid schedule.

Elsewhere, Lee takes his turn to pick a differential for the next four Gameweeks, there are clean sheets to consider and transfer and captaincy plans are revealed.

Joe and Luke reveal the key teams and players in their thoughts for the Skyff overhaul next week, ahead of GW27.

Midfielders look to be in short supply, but there are plenty of decisions to be made in defence and attack.

Bonus kings, captaincies and the community's questions are also tackled.

Will they be tempted to make any transfers for GW25 and GW26 in the light of Mane's injury?

Joe and David discuss the best Fantasy Premier League captaincy options for Gameweek 25.

With doubts around key players, Salah could be the safest armband option. But Man City and Arsenal's away day clashes may offer strong alternative options.

With six top 5,000 finishes, including a career best 17 placing, Utkarsh Dalmia (aka FFscout Pro-Pundit Zophar666) is no stranger to finishing the season in style.

In fact, since he started playing in 2009/10 he has never finished lower than 30,179.

But while his track record is stunning he advocates a patient philosophy of minimising risk in the transfer market and keeping a close eye on squad structure.

His chat with fellow self-proclaimed “dullard” Joe takes in the importance of price points, team balance as well as trying to minimize bad luck and the risk of a rotten Gameweek.

But such a balanced approach needs to be flexible. This is something he is having to deal with this season as he attempts to avert his first poor ranking finish in an illustrous FPL career.

Zophar also discusses how his usual big at the back philosophy involving premium defenders has had to be tweaked this year with such an array of budget options with potential for points at both end of the pitch.

He also chats about his epic 17th finishing season and how playing his own game, surrounded by social media ‘noise’ and the pressure of so many friends now involved, has altered how he approaches the game.

The changing game, involving rotation and a wealth of captainable assets, is also covered.

As is an awareness that luck is FPL managers greatest friend, or enemy. As Zohar says about Fantasy managers ability to truly influence the game: “I’m not the one on the pitch scoring the goals.”

It’s finally here. After weeks of waiting and planning Liverpool’s  double Gameweek 24 has arrived.

Ahead of today’s deadline Joe, Pranil (aka Lateriser12) and Az take a look at the best options among Klopp’s troops and who is most deserving of the armband. The triple captaincy chip, the Red’s resilient recent defence and array of attacking options feature prominently in their discussion.

Fresh from his Meet the Manager appearance and rank busting Aguero transfer earlier this month, Pranil is once again on top form.

Going above and beyond the Scoutcast cause he leaves Joe and Az stunned after unleashing his eye-test analysis of Liverpool’s recent games and who is most likely to receive his Triple Captaincy backing as a result.

West Ham’s double fixture in Gameweek 24 is not forgotten, with Joe taking his turn to silence his fellow Scoutcasters with news of his planned and unlikely Hammers punt. Naturally he has the dullard statistics to back up this maverick move.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford’s long-term injury means there are plenty of community questions to consider regarding alternative striking options.

Rough with the Smooth, clean sheets and Pranil’s turn to pick a differential are also included in this packed double Gameweek special episode.

The crew round off proceedings to reveal their transfer and captaincy decisions.

With one blank, two no shows and a mere assist over the last four Gameweeks Jamie Vardy is not looking in the best of form of late.

Also taking into account his zero shots against Southampton last time out some in the community are considering ditching the Leicester man to make room for Liverpool’s enticing double Gameweek 24.

Joe is joined by FPL Family’s Sam and Lee to discuss the sacrifices that may be needed to maximise the upcoming favourable fixture run for the Reds.

Could even the incredibly consistent Kevin De Bruyne make way for the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah? One of our trio is certainly considering this bold play.

True to form though Joe believes he has a dullard solution to keeping all his current gems and maxing out on Liverpool.

Elsewhere, the bargains among Southampton and Watford’s troops are looking too good to ignore. While there’s less love for the West Midlands teams, with Wolves and Aston Villa players among those likely to depart our trio's line-ups.

Sergio Aguero takes centre stage in our rough with the smooth round up of the community’s Gameweek 22. Joe takes his turn to pick a differential, there’s clean sheets to consider and this episode wraps up with the Scoutcasters’ transfer and captaincy plans for Gameweek 23’s fixtures.

Will Vardy finally be fit enough? Fantasy Football Scout regulars certainly hope so by voting him top of our Captaincy Poll (see homepage).

But can the Leicester man compete with the likes of De Bruyne, Rashford and Jiminez, who all also have favourable fixtures?

Its another tough week for FPL managers regarding the armband.

Christmas is over and it’s time for some January Sales shopping. With new manager bounces across the Premier League there are plenty of cut price player options, who have the chance to do well over the second half of the campaign.

Our trio of Joe, Karam and Az consider the best players with a value now below their starting price, with Watford, Everton, Arsenal and West Ham stars under consideration.

Southampton’s discounted troops also come under scrutiny, as does their star striker Danny Ings, whose price has been rocketing upwards thanks to his incredible scoring run. Az is quite rightly delighted to own him, while Karam and Joe join many in the community, who are wondering why they have still not acquired the former injury-prone Liverpool man.

The Reds also get an airing, with our trio’s double Gameweek plans for Klopp’s table toppers taking centre stage. During this section of the show they reveal very different strategies for finding the best way to tackle this next major fixture challenge for Fantasy Premier League managers.

Elsewhere, there are differentials to consider, clean sheets to mull over as well as Gameweek 22 captaincy and transfers to reveal.

Christmas is not entirely forgotten as Joe, Az and Karam look back on their good, bad and decidedly average festive run of games.

There’s also talk of a naked run through the streets of Lisbon in this packed 96-minute episode.

Among the standout phrases from ProPundit Pranil Sheth when he discusses his stellar Fantasy Premier League career is - “hit home, hit hard”.

Making high impact decisions quickly around form and fixtures is how Pranil has achieved the remarkable feat of two top 200 finishes and never completing a campaign outside the top 50K in his last seven seasons.

The pinnacle of this remarkable run was his finish of 77th in 2015/16 and reaching the dizzy heights at one point during the 2012/13 season of 22nd, before finishing in 189th spot.

Over these campaigns he has ruthlessly focused on ensuring he has the best chance of beating those around him with strong, often low-owned, premium options that can better popular picks each week.

A case in point was this season when he successfully backed Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah with the armband over runaway favourite Jamie Vardy.

During his chat with Joe, Pranil reveals why he is happy to take hits as he looks to take out his opponents swiftly. Bold moves are also needed for success when reaching the very highest rank spots, he explains.

Such is his commitment to FPL that he took a break during the 2014/15 campaign to spend time setting up his business. Embarking on a season not fully focused on FPL is simply not an option for Pranil.

Elsewhere, he explains why his ranks were so bad at the start of his FPL career in 2008 and why friendly rivalry took precedent back then.
